Grass Riding Arena I Eventing
Safely over the cross-country course
Surefootedness and slip resistance play a major role
The cross-country courses in eventing are mostly on grass. A high speed in combination with a wide variety of jumps requires the highest level of surefootedness and slip resistance for the safest possible sport. As outdoor events are fully exposed to weather conditions, the issue of precipitation plays a decisive role. Large amounts of precipitation must be drained quickly and effectively to prevent waterlogging and the associated risk of slipping. At the same time, the turf layer must have good moisture storage capacity to maintain a certain moisture level even in dry conditions. A soil that is too dry is more susceptible to wear and loses elasticity.
